There will be much to read as always. The archives are full of wonderful reading. Thank you for reaching out to others by passing on news and articles you’ve found here.

We’ve added Pinterest and Twitter and hope to bring you more of the content you’re looking for.

As always, LAF welcomes submissions at LAFemail@gmail.com. We know and appreciate that you want to be a part of what we do here to support thriving biblical womanhood. Also, send us your comments about how you think we’re doing.

New advertising packages will soon be available. Keep your eye open for the available marketing options TBA on the advertising page.

And lastly, our vision and encouragement for the coming year together.

For all the books, all the teachers, all the articles, news pieces and opinionated friends we all have readily available to us, the clarity and direction we seek to gain by them very often makes us indebted to confusion and compromise which results in uncertainty and indecision. All of this undermines our vision, productivity and fruitfulness. The very thing we’re looking to promote and sustain by our study and quest for knowledge and truth.

How is this happening? For all the wisdom available to us, why is it that many of us are right where we were at the beginning of 2012?

How can we go beyond always learning [yet] never [being] able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth as in 2Ti 3:7?

We have to remember in this coming year that mankind isn’t entitled to his own opinions. That our favorite author, public personality, preacher, or friend has no power to validate truth.

As much as we want to be confident in and known for our positions, opinions and beliefs as well as the positions, opinions, and people we support, none of what we believe is justified by our support or the support others offer us. The truth we seek to find and hold on to is validated in a totally different way.

If we believe we are entitled to our own opinions, we are on a merry-go-round of ideas that will never get us anywhere. We may like our ideas and borrow from others but unless we have a standard of truth that orders our thoughts, maintains for us a sense of reality, preserves us from deceivers, keeps us and others accountable in our standards, traditions, opinions, and beliefs, we are lost and will reap a whirlwind of fruitlessness and further judgment.

We are called to think God’s thoughts after Him and by His wisdom judge all positions, traditions and opinions.

Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. Psa 119:66

We want you to get the most out of what you read and purchase here at LAF and that is only possible if we all understand the foundations of truth. We will never find it in ourselves or in mankind, though nature itself is in part instructive of the laws the Creator governs by. The call to be known by Him which results in our thinking His thoughts after Him, is greater than what we can gain from all our studying, reading, debating and apparent seeking out of sound wisdom. If we fail to see that truth is already established and there for the taking, if we fail to see that truth is settled by God in the Word of God, if we fail to see that He has called us to conform to His standard of truth in what we think and how we live, we’ll find ourselves to be utter failures rejected in the day of judgment. The very thing many of us are seeking to avoid.

What a shock that will be considering to what great lengths we’ve gone to in order to know the truth and live by it. Yet we’ve missed it entirely. Anyone can know of Him and not be known of Him.

We think you’ll agree that one of the biggest problems we have is everyone wants to think for himself and be known for what they think rather than think God’s thoughts after Him. The inevitable conclusion is that we lose confidence by trusting in ourselves, and rightly so. We lose assurance and begin to compromise by borrowing another man’s wisdom, thinking that another’s ideas, opinions, arguments and wisdom is greater still. Then comes the temptation to piece together bits from all of our gleanings from men, be it from our own experience as it seems more solid than our untested theory, or another man’s apparent position and influence that is validated by the masses who cheer him. “If only we can validate our own theories the same way as other do, we could be as confident” is a faint whisper we should ignore. That is not the foundation of confidence, assurance, or how truth was established or validated.

We have so long been busy spinning the truth without knowing it, we don’t know what truth or reality is any more, how it’s found or preserved in our hearts and minds. If we fall prey to furthering this temptation, accepting that we can’t know the truth above and beyond the convoluted thoughts of man, we will continue to argue that every man is entitled to his own opinion and that the real heretics are the divisive ones, who point us past ourselves and themselves to the foundation of truth.

None of us will be able to stand alone and hold fast to the truth in 2014 as long as we persist in this manner.

In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.  And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. Col 2:3-4

Be encouraged that we are entitled to think God’s thoughts after Him. We are called to learn the way of obedience by this, that by Him we can be conformed to and persevere by His thoughts, not our own. By Him we are liberated from the persuasive, judgmental tangle of corrupt, man-centered thinking when we surrender our right to be our own person, become and continue to be God’s workmanship instead.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Joh 8:32

Have faith and ready yourself to be vulnerable to the Creator, His calling, His wisdom, and His will. While the world persists in that last great holdout that stands between them and God, trust Him to establish and settle you in truth for His kingdom here and in eternity.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Jas 1:5

My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.  Psa 119:25

As LAF moves into 2014, we thank you for sharing this vision and pray for your continued faithfulness. As we continue to post many articles, news pieces, opinion pieces, sermons and the like, all of which have the potential to be helpful, practical, enlightening. We are grateful in knowing that they are only helpful due to the work God is doing in your lives to build godly discernment.

Thank you for letting us be here to help. Here’s to truth and moving forward with greater confidence that comes from God alone! Cheers!
